一、年份
關於四位數年份的讀法有下列幾種情形：
1、一般情況下，將表示年份的四個數字按前後分為兩組，每一組的數字都按基數詞來讀。例如：
2023年讀作 eighteen sixty-five
2023年讀作 nineteen ninety-eight
2、如果前兩個數字為非「零」數字，後兩位數分別為「零」，則先讀出前兩位數，然後將後面的兩個「零」讀為 hundred。例如：

3、第三個數字為「零」（其他數字不是「零」）的年份的讀法應當將該「零」讀為o［u］。例如：2023年讀作 eighteen o nine

2023年讀作 one thousand and eight（或ten o eight）
另外，還有一些非四位數的年份，它們有兩種讀法：一種是按照基數詞的方法來讀，另一種是一個一個數字來讀。例如：

1、可以直接按照表示時間的數字來讀。例如：

10：55讀作 five to eleven
8：40讀作 twenty to nine
4、英語中的15分鐘也可以說成「一刻鐘」（a quarter）。例如：
4：15讀作 a quarter past four
7：45讀作 a quarter to eight

鐘點的讀法分英式和美式兩種，我們應對此加以注意。以下是英式的表達方法：
